Chapter 12 Essay

Question:

You have now read the twelfth chapter of Farmer Boy. Mr. Brown was surprised that Mother bested him. He respected her for her shrewd trading. What makes Mother a shrewd trader? Have you ever traded for something? Did what you got in return match the value of what you gave? Trading was a common practice in the time period of our story. Why didn't they just pay cash money, like we do? Non-detailed responses will NOT be accepted.
