Chapter 1 Essay 2

Question:

You have now read the first chapter of Little House on the Prairie. Pa told the family that "wild animals would not stay in a country where there were so many people." He did not want to be around a large group of people. He said "he liked a country where the wild animals lived without being afraid." What did he mean when he talked about the animals? Why do you think he wanted to leave where the wild animals roamed? Do you agree with him? Why or why not?
