Directions: Follow the steps listed below along with the teacher's instructions.
Notice: The text that you are instructed to type is displayed in a Lucinda Sans Typewriter font.

FILE SETUP

• Open Windows Notepad
• Maximize your window
• Go to File -- Save
  • Go to your Keyboarding Folder: Z:\\Keyboarding\
  • Name your file "Review05"
• Type your Name and the Date at the top of the document.
  • Press Enter 4 Times

TEST YOUR SKILL

• Score: 10 points
• Take 3 3-minute timings.

1. Your teacher will time the whole class.
   1. Wait for the signal to begin.
2. Repeat if you finish before the end of 3 minutes.
3. Remember to indent your paragraphs by 5 spaces or the Tab key (use the left little finger).
4. Practice the words that have errors till they are easy for you.
5. Your 3-minute speed is words typed divided by 3.
6. After each attempt, Double Space and type your words per minute and your number of errors
   1. Double Space before starting next attempt

FINISH UP SPEED

1. Double-check that your name and the date is at the top of the page
2. Save your file: File -- Save
3. Print to Lab Printer
   1. DO NOT go to printer to pick it up.Your instructor will pick up all pages at once.

STRETCH BREAK

• Take a minute to stretch out
  • Stand up
  • Bend down and touch your toes
  • Stretch your arms above your head
  • Stretch your arms out to your sides
  • Flex your fingers

TYPING REVIEW 1-21

• Complete the typing review activity:
  • Score: 100 points

• If you feel you are making several errors, you may refresh to start over.
• When you have finished, raise your hand so that your teacher can record the grade.

STOP THE MUSIC

• Type your Name and the Date at the top of the document.
  • Press Enter 4 Times
• Your Story Starter: "The team gathered for the big game..."
  • Tab once to start a paragraph and type this starter.
  • NOTE: Grammar and Spelling Count! This is a review your typing skills.
  • You may use backspace to fix mistakes.
• You will continue the starter by finishing the sentence and composing a story.
• When the music starts, start typing.
• When the music stops, stop typing and move to the computer to your right.
• Take a few minutes to read what the previous person wrote.
• Press Enter twice.
• Type your name.
• Press Enter twice.
• When the music starts, start typing. ...
• Continue this pattern until given notice from teacher.
• Double-check that your name and the date is at the top of the page
• Save your file: File -- Save
• Print to Lab Printer
  • DO NOT go to printer to pick it up.Your instructor will pick up all pages at once.

• Practice your Vocabulary Words and Keyboard Shortcuts by taking ONE of the practice quizzes.
  • Score: 100 points
  • Take your pick of which one to take. You will eventually complete all of them.
