Question:

You have now read chapter 5 of On the Banks of Plum Creek. Laura is punished for disobeying Pa and playing close to the swimming hole. Later, when Ma and Laura talked about it, Ma said, "Once you begin being naughty, it is easier to go on and on, and sooner or later something dreaful happens." Think about this statement. What do you think Ma means by it? Can you think of an example in your own life where this came true? What happened. Write a paragraph explaining your thoughts about what Ma said. Non-detailed responses will NOT be accepted.
