Question:

You have now read chapter 19 of On the Banks of Plum Creek. When Laura could not convince Ma that she did not need school, she went outside to see what Pa was doing. He did not see her approaching and almost hit her with the hammer. He said, "I should have expected you, flutterbudget. You're always on hand like a sore thumb." What does Pa mean by this? Does he mean that he doesn't want her around (One would assume that a sore thumb is not a good thing to have)? Give an example to support your opinion. Do you ever remember a time, when an adult said something similar to you? Tell about your experience. Non-detailed responses will NOT be accepted.
