Question:

You have now read the first ten chapters of Little House on the Prairie. The last few chapters have described how Pa, with the help of Mr. Edwards, Ma, and the girls, built a house on the prairie for the Ingalls family. Pa's methods are very different from those that we use today. Compare and contrast the Ingalls's house to new houses built today.

Pa built a good, very sturdy home. How would today's families feel about living in the Ingalls's home. What would Pa think of the way houses are built today? Use details from the story and your own observations and experiences. Discuss supplies and technologies available in both time periods. Non-detailed responses will NOT be accepted.
