You have now read the twenty-seventh chapter of Farmer Boy. Almanzo feels that since he doesn't want to be a schoolteacher or a shopkeeper, he should not need any more schooling. His father says that farmers need more education. Why do you think Almanzo does not want to go to school? Is it important for him to continue going? What more does Father think he needs to learn?
